Hi, was after some advice from anyone who has been through this before… I am currently around 6-7 weeks pregnant. Had a scan on friday that confirmed baby and strong heartbeat. However have woke up this morning and have been experiencing a brown blood each time i wipe going to the toilet. It had also gone through slightly on my underwear but it is not covering a pad and is not heavy. Has anyone else experienced this and what were your putcomes? I had a missed miscarriage in December and am currently going out of my mind. TIA x

I'm sorry you're going through this. Brown blood means it's old blood so it's likely nothing to worry about.

I had a tiny bit of brown blood in the early stages of my last pregnancy and my OB said it was nothing to worry about.

I had some brown upon wiping when I was pregnant with my second baby at 6 weeks, and then lots of bright red blood at 8 weeks continuing on and off throughout my pregnancy. My lovely 21 month old is sitting here with me now!

I am also currently 11 weeks pregnant with my third baby and I had some brown when wiping at 6/7 weeks too. I’m not too worried.

Hope all goes well for you!

Hi lovely, I had a missed miscarriage back in June and got pregnant again very quickly in August. I also had brown blood at around 6/7 weeks this time - not heavy, but defo there when wiping the same as you. They scanned me at 7 weeks and all good, but put me on progesterone given my previous miscarriage. My bleeding slowed down and stopped about a week after going on it at the start of Oct and none since. Good news is this is old blood so less worrying than pink/red but given your history of miscarriage, I do think it’s worth investigating for both your mental and physical health. If you are still bleeding I’d recommend speaking to your midwife and/or EPU about the symptoms and for your health and situ if they would recommend you going on progesterone until 12-16 weeks. Sometimes they term this bleeding as ‘threatened miscarriage’ but many health providers will wait until you have multiple losses before prescribing. I was also recommended this for TTC by another hospital when I lost my first (I was away for work). Definitely advocate for yourself and ensure you have all the reassurance and answers from them you need💕
