Rash at 5 weeks- should I worry?

The rash started on Saturday and has spread a little since then. Not itchy or bothering me at all and I don’t feel unwell. It’s on my back, inner arms and a little on my stomach. I haven’t used any new products. Being so early on in the pregnancy I am a little worried though, any ideas what it might be?

I have a very similar thing! It's almost like a spotty rash? It's on my back, chest and is now spreading down my arms. I'm 20 weeks and only noticed it this past week or so. Like you it isn't itchy or anything so I'm not sure weather to bother going to the doctors or not. I'm assuming maybe my skin has become more sensitive in pregnancy and is reacting to something but I'm not sure what 🤔

@Pennyroses yes but I’ve noticed some of the red spots have a paler circle in the inside if that makes sense? After doing some research I think it could be pityriasis rosea maybe? Hoping not as apparently getting it in the first trimester isn’t great 😬 I was going to make a GP appointment today but as I’m feeling fine I don’t really want to risk picking up something from the waiting room!

It does sound very similar to mine! I too was going to make a gp appointment today but like you say I feel absolutely fine and I'm not sure what they'd even do anyway? I'm leaving it a bit longer and if it's still there next week I may go then. Mine just reminds me of a viral rash, my kids used to get them when little but with me feeling fine I'm not sure really what it is! 🤔

I would say yes to both of you seeing your GP/calling your midwife

@Pennyroses yes because I’m feeling absolutely fine and as you said I don’t think there’s anything they can do about it anyway, I’m going to hold off until after the weekend at least and see if it clears up. It’s not itchy or bothering me in anyway either. When you first google pityriasis rosea and pregnancy it’s a bit scary but I’ve also read loads of posts from women who had it in pregnancy and all turned out fine.

@Pennyroses is this what yours looks like?

I did Google it and I'm just not sure it is that to be honest 🤔 but it did make me think of a rash I had a couple of years ago and it definitely sounds like it was that! It started with one little patch and spread, it was also itchy. I don't know how this one started as it began on my back and it's relatively mild at the moment. I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure it'll clear up soon x
