Experience of induction at St Thomas?

Hi all, I’m under the care of St Thomas Hospital London for my first (IVF) pregnancy. After careful review and discussion with consultant, my husband and I requested to have an induction at 39 weeks which my consultant supported and she has booked me in. I’m considered low risk and healthy so I understand that on the day, if another mum needs induction more than I do, she will be prioritised over me and I will have to wait which is of course fine by me.

Is anyone happy to share experience of induction at STH particularly if it’s considered ‘non-urgent’? How long did you wait for induction to start? I’d appreciate any experience you can share!

Also I know that induction is not very pleasant for many, but I am hoping this thread will not be a debate of whether I should have one or not. We’ve already discussed it w my consultant and have made the decision.

I was induced at Tommy’s in a non-planned induction (pre-eclampsia complications, 39w), and even then waited like maybe 6-8 hours+ as they were so busy. So it really depends what other cases they have on that day! I did get absolutely excellent care from them though. Hope it all goes well for you.
