Fluid on brain 12 week ultrasound

Hey everyone

Looking for some advise please. We went for our 12 weeks scan on Friday and the ultrasound said the head looks abnormal and showing signs of maybe some fluid on the brain. She didn’t really tell me much and she booked me in with FMU on Tuesday for further scans and testing but I sort of feel like iv been left I’m limbo. I’m googling all sorts looking for advise. She stated the head circumference is 66.9mm but I have no idea if this is normal or enlarged for 12 weeks

Any advice please has anyone has been through this at such early stages and found it’s resolved on its own?

Thanks

From a quick google it sounds enlarged, but the thing with Google is it’s not always correct and there’s of course a margin for error on scans too. I don’t have any advice sorry but I really hope it all goes ok on Tuesday. Just try and keep yourself busy until then

Online it says that is slightly above average. The waiting is really hard but there is nothing you can do apart from look after yourself until you get answers. I hope it goes well tomorrow.

Hi all, thanks for your lovely messages

I went today for my scan and baby’s heart had stopped 💔 they said baby’s head is full of fluid and they think this was a chromosome issue so wouldn’t of survived anyway I’m having surgery Thursday for removal of baby and they are gonna send off for some testing. Not the news I wanted but thanks for ur support 🥲❤️ xxx

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you were spared having to make difficult decision about your pregnancy, if the embryo wasn't viable, and perhaps this was the best outcome. So awful to have that loss after such awful anxiety though.

Miscarriage is do common, but the bereavement is still very real. Take care of yourself.
