Pain in one ankle 24 weeks pregnant

I don’t recall doing anything that could have caused this but I have pain to my left ankle as if it’s sprained. There’s no swelling or heat. I don’t want to go to a and e for no reason as I have a toddler at home also.

24 weeks pregnant - anyone know what this could be? X

It's probably just that your ligaments loosen off when pregnant making it much easier to roll your ankle for instance. I definitely would not be going to a and e with that.

What @Wherethewildthingssaid.

I was really surprised by how much discomfort all the relaxin in my body caused me. It’s the hormone that relaxes your ligaments, allowing your hips and ribs to widen.

I was a keen exerciser and thought I’d continue it into late pregnancy, like so many women online seem to do. I really hurt myself in the gym by overextending, and the osteopath explained how my skeleton was a bit floppy because of the relaxin and I needed to take it easy.

I’m 12 months PP and my feet still hurt every morning because of relaxin. It takes a good while to go away, especially if you’re breastfeeding.

I just did gentle walking past about 28 weeks.

Thank you. I train a lot didn’t even think of that as I didn’t do anything specific that I recall could of hurt but makes sense x

As the others have said, it'll probably be the relaxin. I wake up with my feet and hands hurting and my body from the waist down can randomly hurt throughout the day. Happens 😏
