Pregnant after TFMR!

Found out I’m pregnant on the 24th of September & currently 7w3d. My midwife appointment isn’t until the 29th when I’ll be 9 weeks! Praying this pregnancy is better than my first which ended in a TFMR at 15 weeks due to T21 found at my 12 week scan in August 2024🌈❤️

I’m also pregnant after TFMR for T21, I’ve got my 12 week scan and NIPT test coming up this week and dreading it

I'm sorry for your loss and congrats. I had TFMR with my 1st pregnancy due to patau syndrome (T13).

Did you and partner have karyotyping done after your T21 pregnancy? Have you considered getting the NIPT at 10 weeks? Wishing you all the best x

They told us it wasn’t anything genetic, just random but I’m petrified it might be ‘just random’ again. It sounds daft, I’m definitely going to ask at my midwife appointment when I’m 9 weeks for the 10 week NIPT test x

I’m currently 21 weeks pregnant after losing a baby to T13 earlier this year. We got extra scan and nipt on the nhs. All come back healthy :) x

@Lea687 I will do, I asked for my 12 week scan to be at the earliest point possible and with a senior sonographer. I’m just not looking forward to it at all x

Its so hard not to worry after being through something as awful as TFMR. Im currently 12 weeks and had a TFMR in 2023 at just shy of 20 weeks due to T21 and also hydrops fetalis that was found durning the amnio at Fmu. If your hospital has a rainbow team ask if you can be under them, i've been put under them and they have so far been fab.
I had a reassurance scan at 8 weeks and NIPT at just over 10 weeks which thankfully came back highly unlikely.
Sending you hugs and wishing you all the best X

Hi, when did you ask about the rainbow team? I have my appointment at 9 weeks, not this Wednesday but the next. Should I ask if they have one then?x

Hi i was asked by the lady that phoned from the antenatal clinic to arrange my booking appointment. I dont know if all hospitals have a rainbow team. When I had my TFMR they didnt even have a bereavement midwife and I was very much left alone afterwards.
Its worth asking if they do, if not though you can ask to have it put in your notes that you don't want to have to repeat the story of your loss over and over. X

What do I say to the midwife to get the NIPT at 10 weeks? My appointment is in 5 days and I want to be able to make everything I want doing clear to the midwife x
