Many thanks for your support over the last few days. Those of you, who've read my chaotic rantings of late, will know that I've been having problems getting any consistent antenatal care from the community midwives. I've been playing 'telephone tag' for weeks. This morning I finally spoke to a CMW and will see her for my remaining antenatals, followed by an (already booked) antenatal with the GP, followed by a scan (busy morning!) The babies are still cephalic, and estimated weights are: Twin 1 - 6lb10oz and Twin 2 - 6lb13oz at 35weeks+3days. Cord blood flow is good and I am feeling very

Thank goodness for that bubble99. Babes are well grown for twins. Did you see my message about physion for splints for carpel Tunnel? Do you have any?

Yes, meant to add mears - the gp has referred me to physio but as I'll probably deliver before an appt. (I can feel a rant coming on!) I've ordered some wrist splints as suggested by Carpal Tunnel UK - sounds like a fun club to be in doesn't it?! Would I get a quicker physio referral via a MW?

Great news bubble, the twins do sound as though they are doing well! Best wishes for the rest of the pregnancy and looking forward to the birth announcement!

Gosh what big babies, doing well even by singleton standards I think! You must be looking after yourself well! Glad you have got some care sorted.

It is an immediate referral to physio here. That could have been done when you were at hospital today up here because physio is contactable immediately for obstetric problem. Midwife may well get a faster referral - ask her.

BP, apparently we have a high level of home births in this area and the CMW's are out on call a lot. I was initially contacted by their receptionist/clerk before the CMW called me this morning. I explained how difficult it had been to make contact and, to her credit, the MW was polite and professional. As I've said throughout this thread - I'm guilty of not hassling enough, the combination of this being a third pregnancy, two lively DS's to look after and a medical background has probably made me too laid back. I would be concerned if a first timer went through this though.

i bet they are though.

my CMW team is amazing, i've been blown away by their efficiency and commitment. i'm sorry your team is not as good. why should you have to hassle to get basic care? i'd be very tempted to write to the Chief Executive if you can be arsed. (I did this earlier on in this pregnancy after some bad handling not from a MW i should add and found it cathartic. the hosp changed its policy as a result).

glad all is looking fine though.
