Pain relief for back ache / twinges pregnancy

what can I do / use to reliev the pain? Is paracetamol truly safe?! I haven’t taken it the entire pregnancy because I’m a bit scared to use it but maybe I should. Could I put my microwaveable beanie on my back? Or get someone to hold it there? Or ice?

I’m 20 + 4 and the back pain has come on pretty rapidly. It started off as twinges when I walk but the last two days I’ve had pain in my left (middle / upper back - maybe even my lat?) I can’t even try and massage it it with my right arm because any sort of stretch really hurts. It takes my breath away because it hurts. It’s not a full ache it’s just certain movements hurt

i recently bought a pregnancy pillow - I slept withouhjt it last night in case that was the cause but I don’t think so. I’ve been walking around in regular intervals from my desk. I suppose I’ve been lifting shopping back to my car but nothing crazy and I distribute the weight evenly with both hands although going forward I’m going to use a trolley to carry it back to the car.

Yes take some paracetamol if the pain is getting to you (check with midwife).
I found my birthing ball the best for pain during second trimester.
By third trimester the pain actually went ! So good luck x

I'm not sure about painkillers but I was also going to suggest sitting on the ball for back pain issues. Sitting on low sunk couches caused me lots of back and pelvic pain issues in my pregnancies. Sitting on the ball really helped me. Hope you get some relief.
