Can an implantation bleed ever REALLY be mistaken for a period?

I'm asking this on pregnancy rather than conception as some of you may have had this. Anyway, can an implantation bleed ever be properly heavy, like a period? For a few days?

The reason I ask is that I've had a very odd period, just 2 days, 1 week early. Chances of being pg are slim to none. I had also considered that I've just had an early mc, due to the nature of what came out of me (sorry, tmi) and wondered if last months period (which was lighter than usual, but still 'normal') could have been implantation.

Sorry, really confused lol. Just if an implantation is never like a proper period then I can rule out both of those things and stop stressing.

You could well be two months pregnant you know. Some people do have periods - light or otherwise the whole way through

Why don't you do a test, to put your mind at ease.

My implantation bleed this time was like a light period for four days. But very light - that was the month after a miscarriage too - so I thought maybe things were just evening out. Till the vomiting started!

I got a day and a half of the brown stuff - at the same time as my period was due. In fact I thought it was my period, bought a 40 pack of tampax and then wondered where it had gone & why I had no red blood - Did a test & nearly fell over lol!

I woke up and thought mine had started - tmi warning - enough on the toilet paper for me to put a tampon in. I was upset enough to cry as we had agreed that that should really be the last month we would try for a while as otherwise things would get a bit complicated. We had a long chat about it being best to wait. Carried on using tampons through the day but by the evening was clear.

Tested the next day and there were two lines smiling back at me...

Have you actually tested?

I got three days of bright red blood, turning up 2 or 3 times in each pregnancy, and had I not KNOWN I was pregnant, I'd never have guessed.

7 days before my period was due, I had about 3 days of end-of-period feeble bleeding (TMI??). Also had cramping.

Now 15 weeks.

Hi, wondering if anyone could help.
Me and my other half have been trying to conceive and have been in the TWW.

I thought I’d had early pregnancy symptoms for the last 2 weeks. Now I’m thinking it was my mind playing tricks on me.

I wasn’t due my period until Thursday coming. I started bleeding last night at 12dpo. So that’s 4 days early.
It’s still lighter than a normal al period but I think too much to be implantation, but I still have lower abdominal pain too.

Has anyone else had this and taken a test for it to be positive? I was going to wait to test Thursday.
I’ve cried all morning ☹️

Thanks in advance xx

I had some bleeding and light cramps (well, red spotting/ very very light bleeding) a few days before my period was due. This continued for three days without getting heavier. I got a BFP on the day my period was due (as I wondered why it hadn't gotten any heavier!) and continued to have a couple of pink spots here and there for a few days afterwards.

In saying all this, my usual pattern was pink spotting for a few days before my period started properly, gradually getting more heavy. That's the only reason I assumed it was my period rather than implantation bleeding.
