Low lying placenta

Hi everyone,

Had my 20 week anomaly scan yesterday.

She said everything looks ok but my placenta is low lying (anterior). Think she said about 2cm away?

I know 90% of them do move up as the pregnancy progresses but I’ve read there’s a less chance of that happening if you have had previous c sections, I have had 2.

Would she have mentioned if the placenta was attached to my scarring? Anyone else been through this where it hasn’t moved by a certain date & how early they had a c section? (I’m having one anyway again due to the previous 2) or does it depend on if you bleed?

Also worried about placenta previa / accreta (I know they always say stay off Google, I just can’t help it!)

Thanks!

They will check you again closer to the time and if it's moving in the wrong direction you will be booked in for a c section. I had this but mine moved the right way so was fine. Try not to worry. Nothing you can do about it.

Mine moved around week 28. Same measurements as yours. Delivered vaginally without an issue during or after birth. Was told no sex during pregnancy or heavy exercise. I did walking and reformer Pilates.
