Am I the Father?

My partner is currently 6 weeks 5 days Pregnant and I am really starting to doubt if I am the Dad.

She tells me her last period was on the 13th of August, but that would make her 9 weeks.

We acutualy went for an early scan at the EPU because she was getting some light spotting and pain and they said she was around about 5 weeks at that time.

We live together, but had a massive argument on the 9th of August and I spent the nigh at a Friends place.

We were having sex pretty regularly in the days/weeks leading up to our fight.

I am fairly confident it's mine, but the different dates and stuff really confuse me.

What do you think?

I'm not doing the maths. But I feel really uncomfortable about a man being on MUMSnet asking if his partner is cheating. We have no idea if you're abusive or violent. And having women do your heavy lifting to find out seems ugly in some way.

If you're concerned, ask for a DNA test after birth. Your partner needs to know if you don't trust her.

The date of the last period, is 2 weeks prior to the egg release - so technically not pregnant from that date - but it’s counted in the babies weeks.

Why would you think this other than dates?
Did you shag someone else on 9th August? Why would you assume she did (too)?

Sadly, I don't think a 'DadsNet' exists.

Questions galore:

  1. How do you know her last period date... that's a bit odd
  2. Who said she was 6.5 weeks?
  3. When did she have the scan

Separately there's no way she got pregnant on 9th August and had a period on the 13th... that's not maths it's basic biology

How are we meant to know.

Ask her if she had sex with anyone else. ,✅
Do a paternity test. ✅
Ask a load of randoms on the internet ❌

blankcanvas3 · 14/10/2025 15:32

She couldn’t have got pregnant on the 9th and had her period on the 13th. Google could have told you that. I’m assuming you have something to feel guilty about which is why you’re on here asking other women to date her pregnancy for you?

I think there must be more to what you have said for you to even be thinking this.

Why do you think your partner has had sex with someone the one night you stayed at your freinds??

There must be a reason? Or you just don't trust her? Based on ...?

The fact that would come in to your head makes me wonder .. is it and has it been you that's been guilty of cheating making you now insecure?

My advice would be go speak to your partner and ask her. Instead of going behind her back assuming she is cheating and asking online strangers about it.

If your going to be having a baby together trust me you need to learn to communicate with eachother ASAP.

Good luck.

Can’t be fucked to google anything at all for yourself, it seems.

SadOldLadyOfTheLowlands · 14/10/2025 16:36

Gee if only there were places that men could ask.

re your GF, you either trust her or not, and secondly - how are you so ignorant on pregnancy dates etc? You have access to the internet?

You don’t trust you partner. It doesn’t bode well for the future. Have a proper talk with her before the pregnancy gets too far.
