Extreme tiredness in pregnancy

Second pregnancy and didn’t feel like this last time.

I am SO exhausted/tired ALL the time. Currently 20 weeks.
Nothing helps even if I spend all day resting.
I had b12 injections when I was maybe 12 weeks. Made no difference.

What can I do?! I can barely function as a mum / at work etc and I can’t bear to feel like this for another 20 weeks 😳

How are you iron and ferritin levels? I'd get these rechecked. But yes, second pregnancy was much more tiring than my first because with another child you can't just rest when you need to.

Iron levels checked and maybe gestational diabetes test.

No advice other than getting levels checked, but solidarity. I’m 36 weeks with an 18 month old to chase after and I’m convinced even if I slept for 7 days straight at this point I’d still wake up tired!

Speak to your midwife. I was hospitalised with fatigue towards the end of my last pregnancy. I was on 4+ naps a day and could only be awake for an hour or so at a time. I had to stop driving and couldn't be left alone with my daughter.
They haven't completely found the cause as my iron and b12 were fine but my liver wasn't. I had obstetric cholestasis and poor liver function, later I had low platelets. They had me on twice weekly blood tests until 36+5 when blood tests got worse and they decided to induce me. I ended up being induced at 37 weeks and baby arrived the next day

Sorry normal for me. I could barely get dressed in the first trimester in my second and third pregnancies. Looking after my older children was torture
