Mainly here to bump for you, but to clarify - do you mean for indigestion? how much?
how much blood? how many weeks are you?

(I didn’t know this could possibly be a problem; I took Gaviscon when pregnant. You’re probably going to be fine, but if you’re really concerned can you call 111 or your midwife / GP ?)

I have spoken to my gp and they have said a one off shouldnt have any harm but i keep googling and it says there is no links between pepto bismol and miscarriage but im still really worried

What has worried you in particular? I practically lived on Rennies while I was pregnant. Is there a FMU near you if you’re still bleeding?

Laurenthorpe · 14/10/2025 13:44

Yes it was for heartburn and i only bled a small amount im just worried i have lost the pregnancy

In situations like this all you can do is say okay, it happened, can't change that, and then switch to rennies or gaviscon for heartburn 👍

Henbags · 14/10/2025 14:01

The bleeding would be unrelated to pepto-bismol.

Laurenthorpe · 14/10/2025 21:44

Would as it only happened after i took it

I had six miscarriages and two successful pregnancies. In my pregnancies I drank pepto bismol out of the bottle because I had such bad heartburn. With my miscarriages I never did because the pregnancies never got that far. It’s just a coincidence. If anything bad is happening, it’s not the pepto bismal but I wish you luck

AmyDuPlantier · 15/10/2025 08:17

God I drank it straight from the bottle every day for months on end. It’s really not related.

Oh ok
