Covid when pregnant

Hi all
I’m 25 weeks pregnant and just tested positive for Covid. I feel absolutely rotten, I don’t think I’ve ever felt quite this ill my whole life to be honest.

I sought advice from the midwife yesterday and she said to keep an eye on everything and call triage if symptoms worsen. It just couldn’t have come at a worse time as I am going on maternity leave at 28 weeks due to medical issues anyway!

I’m in bed but going to work from home today as there are things that need to be done. I just don’t feel able to actually move. My stomach hurts from all the coughing and my throat is agony. All my sense of taste and smell have gone.

Also feeling worried about the effects of having Covid on the baby. I’m already a high risk pregnancy, just wish I could have avoided it.

Covid won’t have any negative impact on your baby.

Hope you feel better soon - it’s just like any other bug.

It's grim, but I wouldn't worry beyond looking after yourself. I've had covid twice during pregnancy, and know lots of people who've had it during pregnancy too.

I had it whilst pregnant, just stayed in bed, lots of fluids, paracetamol for fever. Take it easy!
