I had varicose veins and they disappeared afterwards. Can’t remember exactly when but it must have been fairly soon

That’s hopeful thank you

Couldn’t read and run… varicose veins can and do appear, mine were right in my groin and awful - lasted the whole duration of the pregnancy but went swiftly after the birth. Very sore. How far along are you? Do flag with your midwife.

Mine are on my vulva too and so painful. It’s really getting me down tbh. I’ve had them for a few weeks, don’t have the midwives until the end of the month wondering if I need to go sooner

Hi @meltingalways wondered how you got on with the veins, did you require any treatment etc while still pregnant? I've had one appear on my labia recently and it's not bothering me much, but midwife said I should definitely get it checked out at the maternal assessment unit (they said it wasnt a major issue and they were too busy!) She said they might want to induce me which felt a bit dramatic, everything I've read online seems to be its one of those delightful pregnancy things and usually resolved after birth (I'm.39 weeks so hoping that's soon for me!)

Hiya sorry to hear you gave it too! Mine were so painful when I walked or stood for too long! I also found the midwife and maternity unit didn’t take them seriously at all so surprised your midwife said that!
to reassure you mine were gone by the time I walked out of the hospital and I only stayed a night! So don’t worry like I did! It should be fine xxx

That's good they disappeared quickly! I've read its fairly common from all that extra blood, hormones and a baby pressing down of course. Think my midwife was just being v cautious, I've found the community midwives quite quick to say go to the MAU for stuff that they then don't think is important. Better safe than sorry etc but equally don't need everything to be a massive deal if it isn't!
