Did any of you create your own bouquets during pregnancy? Like buying store flowers and arranging them yourself for home?

I started to worry about the pesticides I had touched while doing so. Apparently they are covered in them especially the ones from Colombia (which is many) TIA I’m stressed!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's going to be a long 9 months if you're worrying about this ...

Also, could just stop having hand-tied bouquets for a few months...

No i was gifted flowers for both pregnancies from DH and DM when i was in 1st Trimester and P/P. From the UK so maybe different.

What?

MidnightPatrol · 12/10/2025 07:27

I put flowers in vases, if that counts…?

Never heard of issues relating to this - but OP this is a UK based site so rules may be different re: chemical use.

This literally wouldn’t have crossed my mind.

If you are UK, OP, perhaps a gentle chat with midwife around anxiety could help

Eh?

Comments are appreciated and fair! when I saw mine were in fact from Columbia after I handled them a ton with no gloves I wanted to check. And it didn’t sound good, they do get heavily sprayed with a lot of chemicals. So I was wanting to hear from others. I won’t be doing it again definitely not worth a risk for me but glad to know others think it’s a non issue.

MidnightPatrol and MixedBananas thanks for your experiences. If I hadn’t handled them for so long and so much it wouldn’t have come to mind for me either so I wouldn’t have stressed personally for just vasing them. But, still helps to hear!
