Bright red spotting after bowel movement

Has anyone experienced bright red blood when they wipe after a bowel movement in early pregnancy? I am conscious not to strain but still saw this just now. Can this happen and everything be normal?

Yep, it may be completely unrelated - piles or anal fissure.

Hey - is it vaginal or rectal bleeding? If rectal probably just piles, have you been constipated? Fairly normal in early pregnancy I believe!

It was definitely vaginal

I did have this with my first pregnancy, I think I was probably in my second trimester not first. But it was just an ectropion cervix, harmless, would get vaginal bleeding when I was constipated/passed a hard stool. Could be that? I would try not to worry, bleeding is fairly common in early pregnancy! How far along are you? If you have a midwife yet I would just chat to them about it

Cervical ectropian here too. (Also called cervical erosion although that’s an unhelpful name as it’s not actually eroding!!) I had bright red blood after poos and also after sex. Scary but harmless. It settled down later in pregnancy.
