Clearblue digital stuck on 2-3?

Looking for some advice, a hand hold maybe. Had a chemical last month, so nerves all over the place. Got a digital 1-2 at around 15/16dpo. Then a 2-3 around 18dpo. I'm now 26dpo and the clearblue has been stuck on 2-3 for a week. My other pregnancy tests which are strip ones have now become dye stealers. No bleeding etc, just worried that the halt on the digital is indicating something is wrong. Have had previous children and had a 3+ by now.

Hello. Some women never get a 3+ on a digital.
I wouldn't worry about it, although I completely understand why you are.

Timetotryagain · 10/10/2025 16:55

I am currently 17 weeks and i had the same, wouldnt go past 2-3 even 8 days after the first 2 - 3 i had. I decided to stop testing in the weeks indicator after that

strawberrylaces12 · 10/10/2025 16:58

I have got my lovely healthy nearly 8 week baby in front of me - I was still on 2-3 weeks at around 5/6 weeks pregnant (should have shown 3+ by then) and for my own sanity decided to not keep testing! I read lots of similar experiences at the time too 😊

Cottonfairy242 · 10/10/2025 16:59

Thank you guys. I've seen several posts that say that they can be wrong, cause anxiety etc but then you come across those few posts that it has been an indication something was wrong and you go down a rabbit hole. I've booked an early scan for Monday where I should be around 6+1/6+2 and hopefully that'll give clear answers.

Same situation although I have had a complicated pregnancy so far.
i was 5 days late before I got the faintest ever positive pregnancy test, I had been cramping for 10 days prior so attended EPAU as something felt right.
my HCG levels were very low and slow the first week 31-39-59 ( all 48 hours apart) and was given a poor prognosis of Ectopic/ PUL or that I would miscarry but they wanted to perform another blood test a week later- the 4th result absolutely sky rocketed more than doubling each day- the doctor was surprised but stated I must have ovulated a week later than expected and that the early numbers were just because it was so very early into my pregnancy.
straight after this blood test I have been spotting minima brown discharge (takes me to 10 days of spotting now- one occasion of bright red when I wiped following a bowel movement)

i had an abdominal ultrasound 2 days following the final blood test and a gestational and yolk sac was seen equalling 5+ weeks- which would make sense if I ovulated a week late- they were not worried about the spotting and said it was normal.
@
i have another ultrasound on the 16th to see if their is any development- I should be around 7 weeks give or take then.
however, my Clearblue on Friday (10th) still said 2-3 weeks which has sent me spiralling.
i also took a semi quantitative hcg urine test with lines in all the areas that shows my HCG should be within the 10000 mark! I do not know how reliable these are though.

head is a mess- all I can think is the worse 😔

TheySeeMeScrollin · 12/10/2025 14:10

I had this exact same issue. Between 5-6 weeks I was testing daily and ill with anxiety. I had my 12 week scan this week and baby is developing just as they should. Please put the tests down, they're very unreliable.

TheySeeMeScrollin · 12/10/2025 14:13

Ps...with my little boy the tests also showed 3+ at the right time, which increased my anxiety so I totally get it. Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Did you ever get you 3+ this time around? X

I did not x

This is all reassuring, thank you! I have put the tests away as I think they are causing anxiety. I know I also ovulated later, through LH testing and my cycle was a bit longer. I suspect this is due to the chemical I had the month previously so that could be contributing. On LMP I'd be around 6.5 weeks but by ovulation I may only be between 5.5 and 6!

I didn't want to read and run. I hope you're doing okay? From what I've learnt these test can be very up and down. Here's a very helpful article from another post I found that is definitely worth a read;

I've spent hours doom scrolling but equally have come to peace with I can't change the outcome of this pregnancy, no clearblue digital is going to decide how this pregnancy goes. This is my 4th baby, with two of my pregnancies I got a 3+ with my son I got a 2-3 and never tested again, who knows I may on never got that 3+ and he's a happy four year old.

What I've learned is this tests can be highly unreliable sometimes yes they can give indication something is wrong but also loads and loads of woman have gone on to have successful pregnancies.

I hope it all goes well for you x

Detailed info about clearblue weeks indicator digital

Taken from another board - very interesting read: There seems to be some confusion about what the results of this test mean. I'll try to clear things up.…

Just wanted to update this thread for anyone who in future may be doom scrolling like me worrying anout clear blue digitals.

Like I thought due to delayed ovulation I am measuring 5+6. But we saw a yolk sac and fetal pole. Most importantly we saw a heartbeat!

Definitely learnt my lesson about clearblue digitals..

@Cottonfairy242 that’s very reassuring to hear, congrats!

I’m currently going through the same thing, supposed to be 5+3, maybe 5+2, but I’ve had 2-3 weeks for ages now and my hcg blood result last Thursday on 9th was 880 so thought my hcg level by now would be high enough to get a 3+ but nope 😢

I’ve had 4 losses already so I’m terrified of another loss 😭 I have a scan this Thursday at EPU so fingers crossed I have the same positive outcome as yours 🤞🏼

Definitely have a look at the link I posted. To get a 3+ the HCG has to be very high and its a big jump between 2-3 & 3+. I hope all goes well for you!! X

Thank you lovely, I hope it all goes well for you also! Please update!
2 days left for me to wait for my ultrasound.
Refusing to do another Clearblue.
My abdominal ultrasound last week must have been above the 3+ threshold otherwise nothing would have been seen abdominally surely, as I know abdominal ultrasounds require higher HCG levels. But who knows, I’m always extremely hydrated as I drink at least 3 litres of water today, so maybe that has contributed, we will see… xx

I paid for a private scan, as I just couldn't wait. It went well today, measured about six days behind which makes sense as I ovulated day 19 this cycle. We saw a heartbeat and everything looked as it should and in place. Thank god! Here's hoping the rest goes smoothly.

I think you'll slowly drive yourself insane and also your poor bank balance trying to get the result your mind desperately wants to see. 2 days is a long time, I can imagine it'll feel like forever but fingers crossed 🤞 it'll all be okay. Keep me updated! Take care of yourself these next couple of days xx
