6+2 clear blue not progressing to 3+

Hi everyone!
I am currently spiralling as my pregnancy has not gone to plan as of yet- by LMP I should be 7+3 but with not accurately tracking ovulation and Beta HCGs and an ultrasound, it is assumed I ovulated late due to a UTI and I am approx 6 weeks at the moment.

i have been having brown discharge for 6 days- no fresh red blood and the amount is minimal only when I wipe- my ultrasound on Monday showed a gestational sac and yolk sac = to 5+, I have a further US planned for the 16th.

my Clearblue digital is still saying 2+ and is causing me anxiety- other than sore boobs and fatigue I do not feel pregnant like my other pregnancies.
I am convinced this pregnancy is not progressing and even though they have reassured me the brown spotting/ discharge is normal- I just feel that something is wrong and I don’t want to be blindsided if the day there is no heartbeat on the 16th!

i know these digital tests are notorious for not being accurate but from what I’ve read, everyone seems to have got the 3+ at least at 6 weeks (I know they show weeks from conception not LMP- it is more so that they haven’t progressed from 2-3 weeks which makes me think my HCG has stopped rising- they were slow to start at the beginning)

just wanting some words of wisdom and if anyone has experienced the same and what the outcome was.

tia x

Hello! I know it’s very stressful and not much can ease your anxiety at this time. Despite my own experience of digitals I still let them upset me!

In 2022 I was pregnant with my son, and even on the day I went for an early scan and saw his little heart beat (6w4d) i only got 2-3 weeks on the digital.

He is now a healthy sometimes happy very stubborn two year old!

normally I’m not this anxious, but nothing has been straightforward from the beginning so I can’t help but think the worse xx

I think all you can do at this point is wait for your second scan. There are plenty of people who never got to 3+ on a digital and all went fine. I myself have had 2 pregnancies where I followed the pattern of the digitals beautifully. Moved up each week bang on. HCG blood work was perfect. But scans showed behind. First one should have been 6.4 and measured 5.4 with flicker of heartbeat. Scan two weeks later was exactly the same size but no heartbeat. Second pregnancy was similar but I only ever had a sac so was a blighted ovum. My HCG and symptoms were still high for both. So really I don’t think you should pay any attention to the digitals. They can cause worry and also cause false hope. Just wait and see for your next scan and hope for the best.

UPDATE;
ultrasound performed today with good progression from the last one 10 days ago- fetal pole and cardiac activity seen ❤️
Measuring a little bit behind at 6+2 but sonographer states this can be out be around 5 days and by 12 weeks it’s possible that baby would have caught up ❤️

Further update for anyone tha may come across this in the future!

despite my uncertain start!

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with what is believed to be a little boy! I never did get the 3+ on the clearblue even though I was Infact 6 weeks pregnant at the time (maybe I would have eventually?!) so please do not get anxiety over these tests! I am always extremely hydrated as I drink 3litres of water a day, so maybe this was the reason- who knows?!

My brown spotting lasted 10 days and I also had one occasion of a small amount of bright red following a bowel movement- I never had an explanation for all this, other than being told it can be normal in early pregnancy!

I will also never know why my HCG results were so low and slow in the beginning- but I am thankful that I am where I am now ❤️
