Pregnancy loss

I had an ectopic pregnancy in September and my last blood test on 10 sept showed my HCG had dropped to 8 and I was discharged from the EPC after it was agreed my body had dealt with things on its own. I also started bleeding on 10th September and this bleeding became heavier and finished approx 5 days later. I logged this as a period on my Flo app and it predicted my period was due around about now. It hasn’t started and I did a pregnancy test just to rule it out and it was positive. I’m really worried as I didn’t engage in sexual activity during ovulation as I wasn’t in the right head space and only started to engage in this again in the last 10 days or so but I definitely wasn’t in my fertile period and if I was it would be too early for a positive test. I’m so confused and worried in case there’s residual pregnancy matter remaining in my body. I’ve done an e-consult with my G.P and hope to hear from them tomorrow but I needed to get it out of my head as my husband is on a night shift.

Hello, it can take a while for your body to recover so you won't necessarily ovulate at the same time as you would do normally. I had two miscarriages last year. One in August and I got my period 4 weeks later which fitted with my usual cycle. I had a second miscarriage in December and conceived straight away. My miscarriage was on the 12th December and my estimated conception date was the week beginning first week of January. So I ovulated that time 1-2 weeks later than my usual cycle. This time around the pregnancy was successful and he's now one month.

Congrats on your rainbow baby.

Were you tracking ovulation? Miscarriages etc really mess with your menstrual cycle and people can often get pregnant very quick after a loss. If you had sex 8/9/10 days ago this could be a new pregnancy.

I would test again in a few days to see if there is lime progression

I do track it quite religiously and I know we were active in my non-fertile days. If it’s a new and healthy pregnancy then great but something about how it’s come about just feels off. I’ll definitely re-test.
