Chemical pregnancy?

TW /pregnancy, blood, chemical pregnancy

Hi! I recently started my period, it was heavy (mine are usually very light) and with several large clots, then tapered right down to spotting and then ended. I took a picture of one clot which was really painful right before, more or less as soon as it passed the pain was gone/minimal.
I've had on and off nausea, upper back ache, a cold, muscle and joint aches, fatigue, very cold and just generally feeling like death for about 10 days now. My period stopped 7 days ago.

Could this be a chemical pregnancy? I didnt test as I just assumed an oddly heavy period but now im not sure as several people have asked if im pregnant due to mood swings and illness and my friend has seen the picture and said it looks like her early miscarriages...im not sure if 7 days later is too late to test too

It was, but id also been taking period delay tablets beforehand so I didnt know when it was coming anyway! I'd assumed the clot was from those but my friend is saying otherwise

I would also assume the clot was from those. A chemical pregnancy doesn't usually have large clots as its still quite early... in fact most people never even realise they have a chemical pregnancy. If you were only one day late and had been on medication I would take it as a medication side effect instead. This could also have contributed to your pains & symptoms also.

Thankyou, thats really reassuring!

My period is always really heavy and painful after taking delay tablets…. I think of it as the price to pay for being able to have a period free holiday 😊
