Looking other peoples experiences really . My first daughter was born at 37 weeks at 4lbs10oz after she was measuring 4lbs7oz at 34w4 then still measuring 4lb7oz at 36w4 induced 3 days later as she just stopped and was told it was iugr. I’m now 19 weeks 5 days with my second which is a little boy, had my anatomy scan yesterday at 19 weeks 4 and he was measuring 10oz which I hear is normal for that gestation. I’m also getting extra growth scans with this pregnancy and consultant led . What are the chances that I’m going to have another small baby? So far he has been measuring bang on time for dates but with my first daughter she was always measuring behind . If you had iugr first pregnancy did you have it second? Thank you!

I had a very similar situation but went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks, a week before my booked induction. Baby was 4lb 10oz as well. Due any day now and this baby is measuring around 40th centile. Have had additional growth scans and only one showed baby as being small but he picked up at next scan and all seems well.
I had the same concerns and I think some people naturally just have smaller babies but its luck really.

I had an IUGR baby 8 weeks ago and thought the same about next time.. my cousin also had an IUGR baby but in her next pregnancy had her baby at 40 weeks and they were a normal size!

My friend's DD1 had IUGR and she was under 5lb after being induced at 37 weeks. Her DD2 2 years later went to 40 weeks after monitoring and no concerns and was over 7lbs when she was born.

Unfortunately it can happen twice. But your second will most likely be bigger baby when compared to first.

Both my boys were IUGR due to placental insufficiency. They sent the placenta to find the cause , but there was no explanation
first was 1.52 at 36 weeks and second was 2.35 at 37 weeks
My second pregnancy was considered high risk was on baby asprin until 35 weeks
i started to show high resistance on the UMblical cords from 30 weeks on 2nd one and delivered exactLy at 37 weeks via c section
with both my pregnancies- they were measuring bang on in the 20th week scan and started to taper down 27-28 weeks . The umb chords showed high resistance and both my babies were lagging significantly on abdominal circumstance
good luck with your pregnancy, hope you have a different experience this time around.
If the reason for your IUGR was placenta failing , I have heard Larginine supplements and beet juice should help with placenta function.

My eldest was discharged with suspected IUGR on her notes - she was born at 38w but was 5lbs 12oz so larger than expected in the end. I was taking baby asprin in that pregnancy and had high BP but no preeclampsia.

In my second pregnancy, DD2 was 6lb 3oz at 39+3, so i think following a lower centile but noone ever mentioned anything about IUGR! I had no baby asprin that time but I did have preeclampsia.

Both times, i had issues with blood flow / pressure through the uterine arteries.

So all a bit of mystery in my case but DD2 was at least bigger.
