Spotting 5 weeks pregnant (IVF)

Has anyone had experience of any kind of bleeding at 5 weeks? I am 5 weeks and 5 days and have just had bleeding for the first time today when I wipe - it was red but not bright red and now seems brown and seems to be tailing off for now. It’s only there when I wipe but I’m absolutely terrified. My IVF clinic just said sit tight and that it would be too early for a scan anyway and to call if it worsens. I’ve been on 1200 daily cyclogest for 3 weeks (2 daily vaginal and 1 rectal) and I know that can cause irritation but I’ve had no bleeding before. I feel terrified and would be grateful for some advice x

I had a proper bleed at six weeks and was convinced I'd had a miscarriage. It lasted for a few hours and I passed a big clot (sorry, tmi). I had two blood tests at my IVF clinic a couple of days apart, and they confirmed everything was OK, then I had a scan at 7 weeks (7+1 I think) which showed all was still well. I had another, much lighter bleed at 10 weeks (brown blood) the same day as my first midwife appointment and they sent me to the early pregnancy unit and all was well. She's almost seven now!

It is scary, but it isn't necessarily the end. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I had another burst at 14 weeks where I woke up bleeding red, heavier than a period, was a S.H again and was fine. I'm now 21 weeks

It's so hard waiting for that first scan to see what's going on, fingers crossed everything OK for you! When I rang my EPU about the 2nd bleed I had, they said if it wasnt accompanied by pain and bleeding getting heavier, they weren't roo worried

Currently 18 weeks pregnant with our IVF baby. I had spotting from 4-7 weeks, mostly brown discharge every time I wiped with occasional pink/red spotting too. Scan at 7 weeks didn’t show any issues and my clinic put it down to the progesterone. It was incredibly stressful but did stop after 7 weeks.

As others, I had spotting, mainly brown from 4-8 weeks roughly. I’d had two embryos put back and it was one of these coming away. The other is now 5 and fast asleep upstairs 🥰

I had a major bleed at 5 weeks in an ivf pregnancy with 2 embryos. 1 left and the other js now a nearly 10 year old. Sending you much love and hang in there.
