private 15 week scan- worried about spinal bifida

Hello, just a preface that I am probably the most anxious person ever, so I apologise if I sound ridiculous.

I had a 15w gender scan yesterday at window to the womb, and looking at the scan images today, I can’t shake the thought that the spine looks abnormal, like there are gaps and it’s disjointed. This has sent me on a bit of a spiral panic about spinal bifida as I feel like my images could indicate it?

Please if anyone has been pregnant and ultrasound images similar, or have any knowledge on spinal bifida, please provide me some information/ reassurance?

Thankyou (scan pictures attached)

Fairly sure that if the private radiologist had seen anything of concern they would have told you, and told you to make an appointment with your hospital.

I’ve gone and looked at my 16 week scan pics and this is them. DS is a healthy almost 9 month old now.

Thankyou and so glad to hear❤️ I’m just worried it looks like their is a ‘bulge’ on some of the images and that the spine is not in line, especially in this one.

There’s no abnormality on any of those images OP. The one you’re worried about is not in plane - I think the bulge you’re worried about is where the scan beam is catching the ribs because of how the image has been taken. Kindly, you need to leave scan interpretation to the professionals!!

looks normal to me. Did you have the 12w scan? They check for this there and instead of looking at the spine there’s actually something else they look for near the bottom of the neck that indicates spina bifida.

That could just be the view pane of the scan things can look a bit strange depending on angles.
