Loss of symptoms 9w4d - missed miscarriage?

Hi everyone, I have been feeling so unbelievably sick for the past 5 weeks but over the last 2 days it has subsided and today I am feeling quite normal. I’m totally spiralling - is this an indication of missed miscarriage? I would like to know so I can prepare myself for bad news if necessary so please be honest.

Lots of people can have loss of symptoms, try not to worry. Xx

Anon501178 · 04/10/2025 22:19

Have all the other symptoms gone?
As you asked for honesty, ive had 2 MMC 9&12 wks and both times there was an abrupt cease in symptoms awhile before.I've had 2 healthy pregnancies and the symptoms gradually tapered off towards end of the first trimester.

That said, there will probably be someone come along who says they had a loss of symptoms and everything was fine, so pls don't take my words as gospel.

Can you book an early scan?
Sending lots of luck your way x

@Anon501178i don’t think I have any other symptoms today. Maybe slight food aversions to sweet things? Thank you for your honesty.‘I have booked a scan for tomorrow and I’m terrified

I believe HCG peaks at 9w, my nausea was definitely at its worst that week but have eased off since. On my previous healthy pregnancies I've had random wks where symptoms decreased and I panicked but everything was fine. The one time I had an early loss my symptoms actually stayed longer than the pregnancy was viable. Good luck tomorrow

If it makes you feel better, I’ve had two MMC and my symptoms never stopped. Even on the day of my surgeries I was still being sick etc. They only started to ease off in the days that followed the surgery. With my successful pregnancy, my symptoms hit a peak at 8-9 weeks, then eased off and came back just before the end of the first trimester. I had a few weeks of very little symptoms and remember being very anxious, but all was fine. Symptoms really do come and go and are different for everyone.

Nope alls well at the scan tomorrow x

Aww bless you, will keep fingers crossed all is well! Good to see a couple of other posters have said their symptoms disappeared but still had healthy pregnancies, so really hope that is the case for you too 🤞

Let us know how today goes....x

My sickness started to fade around 10 weeks. Baby was fine.

@firsttimepregnanthelp hope the scan goes ok ♥️

Ate your breasts still enlarged?
I found that mine deflated when I was having a miscarriage.

I hope your scan goes well.

firsttimepregnanthelp · 05/10/2025 11:48

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOnei don’t know if they ever got that big?

Fingers crossed for your scan.

I lost all symptoms at 9w and had previously been sick and had aches. DS is now 14 months old!

firsttimepregnanthelp · 05/10/2025 12:24

@justnottinghillthat’s so reassuring, thank you. Did you freak out too?

I thought it was strange but I read everywhere that it’s normal as your hormones rebalance. Also the fact that people who have missed miscarriages don’t even know as symptoms continue so it is a falsehood assuming symptoms = normal. That reassures me. I had a scan at 10w and cried when I saw everything was fine.

He’s currently trying to bite me so this parallel is quite funny.

Anusername · 05/10/2025 14:49

I’ve had two MMCs and I didn’t notice anything as symptoms were still quite strong even on the day of my surgery. I think symptoms can come and go - treasure the days when you feel more ‘normal’!

Update: all fine thank god! Measuring 2 days ahead so 10w. Sonographer said my body is just getting used to the pregnancy. Thanks everyone for your support

Woohoo! So glad, told you it’s mad isn’t it. From now on, don’t google anything. Follow your midwife’s advice. If you have any strange blood or discharge, seek medical advice. Otherwise, you’re just going through a normal pregnancy.

once you’re past that first trimester it all gets a bit easier in terms of being taken seriously with doctors etc
