It’s fine.

Orangepate · 04/10/2025 19:36

There is nothing alive in there. It’s far too dry and salty..

Hatty65 · 04/10/2025 19:39

Honestly, you'll be fine. Plenty of women have survived eating all sorts of crap - and drinking - when they didn't know they were pregnant. I ate lots of things that they now (apparently) tell you not to when I was pregnant in the 90s and all my DC are fine.

SoftPillow · 04/10/2025 19:39

The milk has gone through a multitude of processes to get to the cheese that you’ve eaten a small amount of, and that cheese will have sat for months in warehouses, trucks, shops and fridges.

Absolutely no harm will come from this. More harm will probably come from stress and anxiety if you continue to panic. It’s fine

Nomorebullshitnotavailable · 04/10/2025 19:39

Please PLEASE don’t panic! I was so worried about these things in pregnancies but honestly truly a little bit on occasion will not affect the baby. It only means heating things on a high temperature to remove any bacteria, but this means good and possibly bad. The chances of a bad bacteria getting through is so so so tiny and even if it did - your body is standing as a protective guard between you and your baby. Truly - all will be well.

Duiprinelloo · 04/10/2025 19:40

Goodness, it's a bit of Parmesan! You'll be fine.

RabbitsEatPancakes · 04/10/2025 19:40

You'll be fine. I ate it continually through 3 pregnancies. I have a friend with a farm in Italy and she supplies us.

I now have 3 children with an expensive cheese addiction.

ThatKookyDenimRaven · 04/10/2025 19:40

Thank you all so much! I really appreciate your quick responses and help! This is my first to reach this stage so just panicked but I will calm down now, thank you all =)

Good luck with your pregnancy!

dementedpixie · 04/10/2025 19:49

Hard unpasteurised cheeses are fine as they dont have enough moisture for bacteria to grow. Conversely you should avoid soft mould ripened/rinded cheeses even if pasteurised (unless they have been cooked) as they have a lot of moisture

I promise you that you'll be fine @ThatKookyDenimRaven
All the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

As far as I know there's not potentially a problem unless you develop food poisoning from it, which is pretty rare. It's not that unpasteurised milk is inherently dangerous, it just has a slightly higher risk of causing illness, which is still very low.

bigsoftcocks · 04/10/2025 20:09

Spiralling !? It’s all fine !

Parmesan is fine? Please get some support if your anxiety is unmanageable as having a baby is tough.. and you have the time now to talk to someone if you need!

As stated on the post and other comments I understand parmesan is fine it was the 'unpasteurised milk' that was the concern for me and as a first time mum in her first trimester I was just looking for some advice from other mummies was all. My anxiety is not unmanageable but thank you for your concern =)

Ah, I've been there (and my panic was much worse than Parmesan!). Mine was an IVF baby, and I'm sensing from your post that you've had some losses. That panic is so real (even though you know deep down there isn't need for it). Glad you've been reassured. Ignore the sarky comments and the inevitable 'get help'. You've got this! Best of luck.

Thank you so much for your kindness, this baby is also an ivf baby (a miracle and honestly a dream come true), I have had 2 previous losses so I am a little edgy this pregnancy as this is the furthest i have got in pregnancy which is why when I saw 'unpasteurised milk' I did panic. And yes i will ignore them as it costs nothing to be kind but i really do appreciate your kind words and reassurance 🥰

I think it’s built into us to be super careful in pregnancy. I certainly had moments like this back 17yr ago when I was preg the first time, can’t remember the what it was about now though… all the best with the rest of your pregnancy 😊
