Worried about 11 weeks + 3 scam

So I had my a scan at 11 weeks and the sonographer said he had no concerns and that the baby appeared healthy with a good heartbeat. He asked me if I wanted a scan picture and obviously I said yes, but this scan picture was given to me. I am so scared about anencephaly. Does anybody have any advice or any experience in which they have had similar but at the next scan everything physically appears fine?

It’s difficult to tell much from scan photos as they are a snapshot in time whilst your baby is moving around. The actual scan is the informative part. If the sonography said he had no concerns then go with that.

Yes, it’s just the head shape that has really worried me? It looks like it has the front part missing?

Did you post yesterday about bleeding?

Prior to 12 weeks then their scan pictures look like weird potatoes with bits missing. Or that’s my experience anyway.

Pregnancy is a worrying time and I don’t think you should agonise over this. If you’re really concerned then maybe you can get a private scan at a reputable clinic. They can take more time to reassure you.

Head shape is probably due to baby moving while the photo was being taken
