Any private school teachers used the SPL hack?

Hello, I have read all about the perks of the SPL holiday hack for teachers. I work in a private school and am wondering if it is as easy as it sounds still? I can imagine for a state school, with the government responsible for paying the 'back to work' gap it is not a problem, but I am worried that in a private school where they run much more like a business it is frowned upon? Thanks

Following as I’m in the same position and would be interested to know this too!

@greglet how far along are you? Do you have a good relationship with your head/HR where you could ask them? I have message HR confidentially asking if anyone has previously done it and waiting to hear back. It would be so helpful, but trying to work it out morally

HR are good but I’d rather do the homework and then present it to them fully worked out to minimise the chances of them saying no! I was planning to use https://www.teachersspl.co.uk/ to work it out once I’ve had my 20 week scan (I’m 18+4), as a colleague said they helped her out.

Also interested to know this-

It's my understanding they can't say no and they also can't make you come in and work in the holiday periods where you're technically back at work unless they'd ask other teachers too. Buuut it somehow feels different when you know it's the school paying it doesn't it?
