32 weeks and painful baby movements

Has anyone else experienced this?
32 weeks and over the last couple of days baby feels so close to the surface of my skin. The movements I feel don’t feel like kicks, more of a turning/ repositioning, like an elbow scraping across my insides 😖they take my breath away most of the time. Of course there are smaller quieter movements, but these big ones can go on for about an hour a time, I can’t distract myself from them I’m bent over sometimes.

Baby is sitting so high in my stomach, my skin feels so stretched and tight and sore. The only relief I get is lying down. My rib cage feels like it could burst at times and the pressure when I first stand up is wild. I have a posterior placenta and have read there is zero cushioning so it can be like this.
Has anyone else experienced this? When is normal not normal anymore as in should I be worried things have got more intense over the last few days?

Sounds normal to me. I used to poke the baby back in when their head (one of mine was breech), feet or elbows got too pokey. It's very uncomfortable.

Interesting PP says her baby was breach… mine were transverse, and it was incredibly uncomfortable towards the end. If they’re in an unusual position it is supposed to hurt more as there’s just not the space for them.

I’d want to know the positioning for definite OP, you don’t want an unplanned breach or transverse birth.

Are you in an area where they do a 36 week scan? If not, I’d be on at my MW to check and double check their lie.

I had a growth scan about a week ago and baby was head down, back was towards the right and all limbs towards the left but definitely more on her side. I have wondered about her being transverse. Although she’s head down she’s not in a straight line…if that’s even a thing.
it feels like she has room to move from her side but for me everything feels like it’s at its limit. I’m only small (5’2) but not sure if that has anything to do with it.

This is my second baby and I don’t remember ever being this uncomfortable with my first, perhaps by week 38/39 but not this early. It has been quite a problematic pregnancy for many reasons tbh.
I am seeing the hospital midwives tomorrow re an iron infusion, so I’ll see if they’ll have a feel and examine me. I’ll mention the aggressive movements, perhaps they’ll check baby and see if they’re happy. Currently on the ball hoping I can dislodge her from under my rib cage 😫

My son had some painful movements before growth scans I too thought he was transverse as I had movements either side my stomach at the same time but he was bum up with one leg on each side although could rotate to have both legs on one side and that was quite uncomfortable when that happened.

Over the course the day he moved up under my ribs which was they uncomfortable and painful. I found lying down for 15-20 minutes held him to shuffle back down and then that was better

I had a posterior placenta with my second and found the movement much more noticeable and, at times, uncomfortable. Having said that, she flipped from breech to head down at 37 weeks and I didn’t feel anything dramatic!
