I have planned with my midwife (on my badger notes app) to have an elected section at a hospital which is not my local one. And it turns out all my scans and things will also be at that hospital.

I have started to bleed and have pain (11 weeks) and wondered if I can go to my local hospital about this? Probably the EPU?? Or do I have to go to the one which is not my local one that I planed to have my section and scans at?
Thank you.

I am sorry you are going through this. I would have thought you could go to local hospital / early pregnancy unit. Could you call 111 to find out? Hope all is well.

@Birdsongsingingagainandagain thank you for your message. I will give them a call and see😢

How badly bleeding?

but if worrying amount - a&e

anxietyangel · 02/10/2025 10:17

@Aquickturn81 not heavily enough to warrant a trip to A&E but enough to cause me alarm

Give the local epu a call. I was seen in two pregnant my local epu before I had my booking appointment so wasn't "on the system" yet but they happily saw me.

anxietyangel · 02/10/2025 10:37

@Superscientist thank you, I will do that. I currently have an electrician here as I have a power cut, but I’ll phone them when he’s gone x

go in to another room and call op

Your local EPU should still see you.
They might redirect you to your planned hospital if they’re in a different Trust (not 100% certain though). x

Whyjustwhy83 · 02/10/2025 11:01

Sorry your going through this my epu won't see you for bleeding before 16 weeks. I was told ambulatory gynecology if bleeding before then but agree ring 111, they should direct you to the right place. Xx

ChocHotolate · 02/10/2025 11:51

Not all hospitals share notes. Yes somethings will be visible on your NHS app but not every NHS Trust can see notes written in a different trust. If the 2 hospitals are in the same trust then of course this is not a problem.
However, this is one of the problems you risk by electing delivery at a further away hospital (which is totally your right but risks dilemmas such as this).
Good luck, I hope everything goes well for you

anxietyangel · 02/10/2025 12:21

I phoned my local EPU and they have booked me a scan for tomorrow morning.
Thank you everyone for listening and for your advice

Glad you have got sorted OP. Hope everything is ok with your scan tomorrow.

anxietyangel · 02/10/2025 15:44

@OopsieeDaisy thank you. Sadly my bleeding has become a bit more heavier. They’ve said if I feel dizzy or faint then I should go to A&E.
I have had a mc before and the back pain feels similar🥺 but I’ll see tomorrow x
