Spotting in pregnancy

Anyone here for a handhold or have any positive experiences they can share from spotting in pregnancy and all being ok.

Last pregnancy ended in missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. Was booked in for surgery but the night before it was booked had heavy bleeding and labour pains and passed everything.

Has taken another 6 months to get pregnant again and I’m now 6 weeks and have started spotting. Am really worried I’m miscarrying again. Saw Dr and they have booked me in for scan at early pregnancy unit next week.

It’s on and off and not loads of blood but it is gradually getting heavier with each round so I’m fearing the worst and not sure how I’m going to mentally get through the next week wondering if I am going to repeat the last awful experience of just suddenly bleeding everywhere or if everything is actually ok.

anyone been in my shoes, how did it work out for you.

He is 17 this year the Dr's told me repeatedly that it sounded like I had a miscarriage only to find a heartbeat on the scans I had chronic thrush and my cervix was easily damaged and every internal scan came with more bleeding when they stopped doing internal scans I still bled it was classed as "unknown origin" as any investigation could aggravate so we decided not to investigate

Took 9 months for my thrush to clear up

Sorry to hear about the horrible thrush, but so glad to hear your baby was ok and is now 17! Thank you for the reassurance ❤

So sorry you've had to experience miscarriage. It's horrible.

For me, the spotting at ~7/8 weeks did unfortunately end in miscarriage. I understand how you're feeling and the only way to know for certain is to get a scan. Good luck x

Thank you for the support!

Did you go on to have a successful pregnancy after?

god this is hard isn’t it!

I got pregnant before my next period even came and currently snuggled up with my 4 month old darling baby. Don't lose hope Xxx

Congratulations I’m so happy that it worked out for you!

The bleeding is getting heavier and now is a bit more brown and clotting so I’m thinking it’s bad news for us - just a matter of time.

I’m really gutted - hopefully next time will be our rainbow.

Just because I always find it helpful when someone updates the EPU confirmed a miscarriage today. So that’s now two in a row 😩.

hopefully we will have better luck next time

Really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. It's so hard to be hopeful after a loss. I had 4 miscarriages over the space of a few years (between 6 and 9 weeks gestation).

Mine all started with spotting and a heavier flow the next day.

However I do have a 19 month old now, and expecting again!

I had some spotting with my live birth too and like another poster mentioned they called it "unknown origin". Some of scans showed little bits of blood in my womb or cervix, likely old but irritated by the pregnancy/internals/pessaries.

Fingers crossed for you.

Oh you give me hope! It hard but hopefully third times the charm!
