6 week scan but measuring less should I be worried?

Hi i went for an early scan yesterday, I was supposed to be 6weeks and 1 day but they said I was measuring less than that (didn't say how much less), they could see the pregnancy sac and yolk sac but no baby just yet. Is this normal or should I be worried? Im going back for a rescan in 2 weeks

I went for a scan with the recurrent miscarriage clinic at the same dates and I was measuring a few days behind. My yolk sack looked the same as yours. Did they see the fetal pole at all?

I went back just under 2 weeks later and everything looked great and I was measuring a couple of days ahead.
Everything is so tiny at this point that measurements aren't usually very accurate.

They didn't see a fetal pole, i had an abdominal scan so hoping they just couldn't see it because of that, it was a private scan I went for as its taken me and partner 7 years to conceive but now im really worried and just hoping in 2 weeks there's been progress 🤞

Hey, I am in the same boat. I actually started a thread about this a couple of days ago.
I was supposed to be 6w2d but they said measuring 1-1.5 weeks behind. I am going for a rescan in 2 weeks too.

The fact it was abdominal is a good thing. It’s much harder to date accurately that early which is why most places do internal scans at that stage. So there’s definitely hope there for that reason.

I was measuring a whole 10 days behind in the beginning of this pregnancy, but everything fine so far and pretty much caught up the further along I got. I really had lost hope at hearing I was 10 days off, but just shows anything is possible! If you're anything less than 6 weeks it's really normal to not see a fetal pole. So I wouldn't be worried. The 2 weeks are difficult to wait for the next scan, but hoping you'll walk out of there with the best news🤞🏼

I had the same measuring 6 days behind then at the next scan had caught up by 3 days and then again by 4 days on the next scan! They were great and explained to me they are literally measuring an image and depending on the angle even .5 of a mm can put you out a few days in the beginning, good luck for your rescan in 2 weeks!

Pretty normal that a scan that early wouldn't see the fetal pole or heartbeat. Remember that your dates are based on an average 28 day cycle, lots of people don't ovulate bang on day 14 so let's say ovulation was day 16... implantation might be day 26... compared to someone who ovulated day 14 and implanted on day 22 there's automatically 4 days behind which is a big difference at this stage.

My first was measuring about 5 days behind at my early scan (at 8 weeks). He eventually caught up and was measuring bang on by 8 months 😂

A scan in 2 weeks will be much better. I know its hard to wait but your baby is just still cooking.

Sorry I can’t give advice but I came here looking for comfort as I’m in a similar position at the moment. I went for a scan at what should have been 6w5d, was only measuring 5w3d, no heartbeat. Went for another scan 8 days later to be told there are 2 embryos in one sac, one 5w5d no heartbeat, the other 5.5-6 with heartbeat. Returning in 2 weeks to see what’s going on. I’m so anxious, I know it could easily go either way.

Had a scan today because I was too anxious to wait until Tuesday 🤦🏻‍♀️ but all is great im measuring 7 weeks and 2 days and baby is there with a nice strong heartbeat 🩵🩷👶
