I'm nearly 27 weeks now and have moved on from just smelling the Badedas shwoer gel to actually eating the lather
I tried not to do it this morning in the shower but ended up licking the suds of my hands and for some reason it is delicious.
Should I relax about it or try and stop

dont think it will do any harm unless you start drinking it from the bottle regularly. Would be easier to have a craving for gherkins or something thou!

I don't think a little bit every now and then would do you much harm, but it might be worth getting your iron levels checked. Farking weird Cravings can be associated with low iron.

I don't think it's anything to get into a lather about though

LOL AdamAnt, I know how mad it sounds but I can't help it! DP nearly caught me eating bubbles when I was running DS's bath last night! I feel like a mad woman, next thing you know I'll be hiding bottles of shower gel around the house and DP will come home to find me slumped over, foaming at the mouth...

mmmm I have some origins orange and almond body scrub. I leave it by the loo so i can sniff it when i have a wee, smells like it would taste lovely but I have resisted so far.

AdamAnt · 03/06/2008 16:56

lol at foaming at the mouth

My grandmother ate ash from the fireplace when pregnant with my aunt, and somehow both survived. You might give yourself a diarrhea, but I don't think you will hurt the baby

DH caught me drinking the juice from a gherkin jar when pregnant.

"How can you even THINK of doing that?!?!"

My friend is a Gp and he had a woman come in with the same craving, she was eating about a bar of soap a day and he said that this would do her no harm at all. But it's still mighty strange! Doesn't it taste all soapy?!

bluefox · 03/06/2008 18:56

Relax. I had a craving for Wrights coal tar soap - not to eat but just to sniff constantly.

sherbetdipdab · 03/06/2008 20:04

It does taste all soapy, but somehow also delicious too
