Testing positive 6 weeks after termination, but still bleeding!?

I had a medical termination around 6 weeks ago, did the pregnancy test that was provided 3 weeks later which showed negative. I am still bleeding on and off, and it’s been hard to determine whether it’s my period this time round, or whether it is still from the termination. Something inside of me decided to take a pregnancy test this morning even though I am currently bleeding, and it came back a faint positive. I will add we did have protected sex, once a pull out method, others condoms, but only a week ago, so the likelihood of being pregnant with a new pregnancy is slim being so soon for a positive and also bleeding.

I know I should ring the clinic, but I go away next week for a very special trip and I just don’t want to have to deal with anything physical until after I get back if needs be.

Has anyone been through something similar? I really don’t want to be going through phone calls and appointments if needs be, and just hoping that it’s a false positive or just the aftermath of the termination.

Is the test you used the same as the one the clinic gave you? I think they tend to use, not very sensitive, cheapies. Or could it be indent or dye bleed?
I had a MC and bled for 6 weeks, but I tested a very strong positive at 6 weeks.
Im wondering if your test today is more sensitive so picking up the remaining hormones? Once I finally stopped bleeding a week later it was negative.

I had a medical termination many years ago. I bled for 9 weeks, still tested positive, got v ill and needed a D&C quite urgently. The (reputable) clinic didn’t want to know. I’d get this looked at sooner rather than later if I were you. Good luck.

I just used a cheap one from Amazon which I’ve used several times before and has always been accurate. I am really hoping it’s just my hormones still all over the place!

Fortunately I’ve not shown any symptoms that it could be an infection, otherwise I’d call up straight away.. if I wasn’t going away next week I’d be certainly calling up, but I just don’t have the time to go into the clinic now until after we get home on the 6th. I’m hoping it’s just my hormones haven’t settled yet 🤞🏼

Lovely, please phone someone for advice, like your clinic as you don’t want to ruin a special trip getting unwell. And they might reassure you and you’ll enjoy it more

In both my losses I tested positive for 8 weeks and bled for several weeks.
the second miscarriage unfortunately led to an infection so to be safe do get checked out x
