Is the 2-3 week HCG threshold accurate?

Online it says 153.

I found out my HCG levels on Tuesday after an unrelated blood test. They were 124. I was 4 weeks exactly and 15dpo.

I did a ClearBlue with weeks yesterday (Thursday) expecting 2-3 weeks, but it was only 1-2.

If it truly is 153 then that’s not even a 20% increase despite good test progression since 10dpo.

I’ve had three chemical pregnancies in the last 5 months along with this pregnancy. Do you think there’s any hope? Does it definitely need a level of 153?

Attached a picture of the strips from inside.

Have you got another Hcg test booked?

No, this was a one off as I was having an allergic reaction. I asked my GP if they would do a second one, considering I’d been referred to the recurrent loss team, but he said it’s not something they do on the NHS.

Nope, don't do it. I never got 3+ on these despite hcg being at 17000 which is meant to be way over the threshold. These tests are awful.

Hi @EmPeEf, may I ask how this pregnancy fared? Have a very similar concern at the moment, stuck at 2-3 weeks on a CB digital. Hope all worked out for you!

Currently 9 and a half weeks and I’ve seen baby and heartbeat on scan twice ☺️ I have another scan next week and definitely feeling pregnant lol.
Got a 2-3 eventually and tried for a 3+ when I was around 5-6 weeks but showed 2-3. Didn’t bother buying any more and everything is fine. Definitely not indicative of something going wrong.

I don’t think you can compare HCG in bloods with urine tests as the concentration is higher. Estimating when I’d expect to see a 2-3 or 3+ based on when I first got my 10miu positive as a baseline worked for me, but it’s not an exact science…

Ah that is fantastic news! It's great to hear a positive update. Wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy, @EmPeEf xx
