I want to know what your thoughts are on the RSV vaccine in pregnancy? I’ve had my whooping cough vaccine but have been offered the RSV and I’m not sure about it? Any thoughts????

I had it a month or so ago. No brainer, even if it was over 200eur. RSV is nasty and if I can do something to minimize the chances of the baby catching it, I'll do it.

MummytoE · 24/09/2025 10:29

Why would you not get it? And put your baby at risk? Address you medically trained?

RafaistheKingofClay · 24/09/2025 10:31

RSV is dangerous and kills. This one is a no brainer.

StampOnTheGround · 24/09/2025 10:37

RSV is extremely dangerous to babies, it was a no brainer for me!

Orangewillow · 24/09/2025 10:38

Absolutely take all the recommended vaccinations, they are safe and important for your baby's health. The alternative is far far riskier

MummytoE · 24/09/2025 10:39

Previous post won't let me edit. Meant to say " are you medically trained"

Rosybud88 · 24/09/2025 10:40

No brainer for me as well - I had it with both my babies. RSV can be life threatening to babies.

overthinker001 · 24/09/2025 10:47

That is the only one I would absolutely get with no hesitation.

MaJoady · 24/09/2025 10:48

Absolute no brainer. Have you seen what a baby with RSV looks like?! I can't imagine anyone who has would think twice over being vaccinated tbh

AwkwardPaws27 · 24/09/2025 10:51

Having seen how unwell my nephew was with RSV, I will absolutely be having the vaccine (I'm 21 weeks, so have to wait a bit longer).

Neighbours87 · 24/09/2025 10:55

I’ll be getting it as soon as I’m called. My friends 2 week old had to be intubated after catching RSV. I feel very lucky that I’m being offered it for my baby

MidnightPatrol · 24/09/2025 13:42

I know of multiple babies that have been hospitalised as a result of RSV - it is a no brainer to get it.

Xxmickixx · 24/09/2025 13:49

I’m getting it done when I turn 28 weeks

My daughter would be 10 today. She isn’t. She died aged three months because of RSV.

Yes she had other significant medical needs but nobody knows whether their baby will be born preterm or with medical issues that put them at risk. When she was in PICU, they doubled beds because of the number of babies admitted with RSV. This is a vaccine you need.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
