Can't stop eating!

Help! I'm pregnant with my third and can't stop eating. I am really worried about my weight as I don't want to be an obese monster when number 3 comes along in September. I used to be really good with keeping fit and watching my weight but have gone from 11.5 stone before babies to knocking on for 15 stone and am not quite 6 months yet! Can anyone give me any advice please before I go bang!

Don't fancy the ice idea but will try it, might have to put it with a cream cake though
See what I mean, I'm out of control

am I daft to think (and this is how I excuse my eating habits) that during different stages of your pg you need different levels of food intake?

I'm 32wks currently and need to eat little and often - apart from feeling uncomfortable when eating big portions (nowhere for it to go) I feel it helps keep my energy levels up?

I wouldn't worry too much about it

am also pg with number 3 and was 11.5stone when I started - that is a distant memory

sleepycat have you tried grapes in the freezer? they're lovely and like sweeties!

I can't get enough of cherry tomoatos at the moment either

tis magnum whites for me, they're at least on buy one get one box free in tescos

they really do help with heartburn though in my defence

jessianelly · 02/06/2008 23:55

grapes in the freezer might be worth a try, thanks. It's just binge eating, I have no need for the biscuits and cakes each evening and the varicose veins are getting bad. Need some encouragement, thanks.

ok, well I'll not send dh out for the bag of chips that am craving then if you promise no more cakes tonight!!

sheesh, my last baby was 11lb1 ffs, you think I'd be totally freaked out and starving myself

star6 · 03/06/2008 07:49

I'm always stocked with sugar snap peas and mange tout because they are very sweet but very good for you as well - and I TRY to reach for those when I want to munch. Also - grapes in the freezer - or even in the refrigerator - are great!! Apple juice also - all of that stuff is sweet and I seem to crave sweet a lot (21 weeks).
I eat wheaten crackers when craving salty and that seems to do the trick (although I'd LOVE a big bag of crisps!!)
I find if I just don't have any of that stuff (like a big bag of crisps) in the house then I don't eat it but it's so tempting when dh says he's going to the shop and do i want anything....

Well, I hit the 15 stone mark this morning, that's it now! (she says) I'm going to try really hard, I'm having a weigh in with my friend on Wednesdays so hopefully that will help. I'm just going to cut out the eating after 6pm and try to reduce the fats and carbs. Will chop up lots of carrots and have them handy in the fridge and see if that works.

I am only seven weeks gone and have already gained weight - it is partly bloating but mostly on my arse, because if I stop snacking I feel really ill.

I dread to think how much fatter I will get if I have to keep this up as pg progresses.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 03/06/2008 12:56

upwind woulnd't worry about it at your stage - you need to eat to stop yourself from being sick and that's definately allowed! I found in those early weeks that only lots of carbs made me feel human!

only trouble now is I get hungry so easily and am also eating far too much chocolatey sweet stuff (brownies and cakes coming out of my ears)...am terrified of getting the scales and am still getting people not sure whetehr or not to ask if I'm pregnant or just piling on the pounds argh!

Upwind · 03/06/2008 14:00

Thanks GirlWithTheMouseyHair

I have a friend who, when she was at that "is she/isn't she?" stage, took to wearing long t-shirts with a scan picture of baby on the front, or mind the bump or similar so everyone knew she was pg. She also took to rubbing her belly

jessianelly · 03/06/2008 23:01

Well I've had a good day, meals only and fruit. No sweets, chocolate or cakes so I'm pleased. Here's hoping I can continue. With my second I was actually lighter at 9 months than I was at 6 weeks! I seemed able then to eat healthily and not over indulge, maybe it's age as I'm now 40!

Time to give up and accept that I will be 20 stone when baby arrives!

Thanks Leonie
I have discovered lots of thread veins on one of my legs and that has now sent me back to sensible eating so lets hope eh! Good luck to you.
Friends keep telling me not to worry about it during pregnancy but for me - 13.5 stone should be my cut off point. I'm trying hard now.
What date is yours due? Do you know the sex?
