hello all
I know this may sound mad but I can't stop worrying about it! I am 16weeks pregnant and need to travel on the bus to work every day- 30mins each way. I have been sitting at the back as that's where most of the free seats are. But have been stressing about the vibrations from the bus to the baby.Whenever the bus stops it vibrates and I can feel it all up through my pelvis. Can it do any harm to the baby? Feeling really guilty thinking about eh developing brain tissue...what if I've done some harm! Paranoid, I know but would love some advice please!!!

You're right, it does sound mad .
Really, don't worry about it, baby will be fine. Lots of people still run/jog in pregnancy, which creates many more vibrations than a bus does.

Please don't worry. You are doing no damage at all. Promise.

I had a 1hr 10mins bus journey each way whilst pg. DD's fine and when I was further on in the pg, the vibrations made her snooze in utero.

Oh it's fine don't worry. You will neither shake your baby out or give him brain damage. So long as you aren't actually manning a pneumatic drill every day it's not a worry.

BTW you can get a baby on board badge which will get you a seat nearer the front!

Salt - happy to help. Honestly we are all paranoid first time round (and second, third and fourth time too)

salt - your baby is floating in lots of fluid, so will be fine. I did have a V' uncomfortable bus journey at about 7 months pregnant - it's the only time in the last 10 years I've been on a bus, so I'm not sure if buses are always like that, but my life! I had to get off a stop early!
