I’ve been really undecided what to do.

I cant seem to find much recent research about the risks and benefits.

Just wondered what other people are deciding and if your managed to find any good recent research that has helped your decision.

thanks

I wouldn't no.

Fesnying · 20/09/2025 17:38

I got it in my 2nd pregnancy will also get it if offered in this one.

Willagorilla · 20/09/2025 17:38

No way

Noshadowsinthedark · 20/09/2025 17:42

Is it a booster?

I haven’t seen much promoting covid vaccines for a while, do they ask you to get it?

GiftWrappedSuburbanDreams · 20/09/2025 17:46

I accepted it but was undecided at first too. But I'd had a few colds that really floored me while I was pregnant and I didnt do great with covid when I'd caught it in the past. So I went for the vaccine. Didn't do me or the baby any harm, he's completely healthy. 😊 Totally up to you though!

Shouldbedoing · 20/09/2025 17:51

Pregnant women can get very unwell from Covid. Not all, but some Pregnant women. A cold is bad enough when pregnant because you're quite limited on remedies.

Elizabethandfour · 20/09/2025 17:55

No I wouldn’t. It doesn’t stop you getting Covid, I can’t believe people still think it does. Look up VAERs in the US.

LER2023 · 20/09/2025 18:38

They arent offering it to pregnant people anymore as far as im aware?

My trust said they wouldnt give it me as theyre not rolling it out to pregnant people for free.

Orangewillow · 20/09/2025 19:00

My local chemist said they can do me a covid and flu booster, I told them I'm pregnant and they said all good and shoukd get for free. I didn't think covid boosters wee being offered free to pregnant people but I'll take it! I'm all for it, would rather not get sick this winter, I got them both last year too when I was going through ivf

PatronusIsAGerbil · 20/09/2025 19:04

My friend didn’t get vaccinated. Caught Covid while pregnant. She ended up in intensive care and the baby had to be delivered early by caesarean because they didn’t think my friend was going to survive. It’s up to you whether you get vaccinated, but be aware that Covid can be very serious if you’re pregnant.

Lavendersquare · 20/09/2025 19:05

Pregnant women should definitely get both the Covid and flu vaccines, pregnancy naturally suppresses your immune system so leaves women extremely vulnerable should they catch Covid the flu.

PurpleTurtleMoose · 20/09/2025 19:16

I wasn't offered it, but would have taken it if I was: generally if a vaccine is recommended by the NHS, there's a good reason for it. I'm inclined to trust the pros and cons have been weighed up by people who understand the science.

I don't think they're offering it at the moment though; I wasn't 😬

ThelastRolo20 · 20/09/2025 20:17

I was 9 weeks pregnant when it was first rolled out in 2021 and I had two doses, I also had it in my second pregnancy. There is legitimate data showing the dangers of COVID in pregnancy, there is no data showing it's harmful. There is no way they would give the vaccine, particularly given how long it's been around, to pregnant women if there was an issue with doing so

Squishydishy · 20/09/2025 20:18

Yeah I had it with all 3 of my pregnancies

TotalDramarama24 · 20/09/2025 20:22

Don’t get any vaccinations while pregnant and certainly not the covid vaccine. I wouldn’t even consider it for a second.

That is a very dangerous attitude to have

The vaccine will only be offered in pregnancy now if you have other risk factors for developing serious illness if you catch Covid. If you’re offered it, there are no concerns that it harms the baby. As for the poster who said no vaccines at all in pregnancy- words fail me. These vaccines protect your newborn baby as well as you

Why not?

You are risking your baby’s health by not doing so.

Ffs. The BBC. Sigh. Look up VAERS op. It’s the US government’s official database of vaccine injuries from COVID. All checked and verified by their staff.

IsThisLifeNow · 20/09/2025 21:07

Yes I did in the past and was glad I did when DS1 brought covid home and passed it to his dad. I was a few months along and didn't catch covid

i was like you until the Covid vaccine. All the risk, no benefit. In the Pfizer trials which you can look up online, more died in the vaccine arm. It was supposed to prevent Covid. That was what was sold. It doesn’t, it never did. The spike protein was supposed to stay in the arm. It doesn’t, it never did. The spike protein, the most deadly part of the Covid vaccine, is in your body forever and ever, replicating.

There is actually evidence of harm but the media are not reporting it so here we are.

Where are you getting this information from?

And then - what’s the rationale behind not getting your whooping cough jab, RSV jab, flu jab etc - have you got evidence to show all these cause long-term problems too?

DecidedlyUndecided · 20/09/2025 21:20

I found the information from Viki Male, who is an immunologist with a focus on pregnancy really helpful in helping me to decide to have the vaccine. She has a helpful explainer. I felt the risks of getting COVID were much more real.
