Round ligament pain

Helllo!

I am 14 weeks pregnant - give or take a few days. Baby was doing gymnastics at 12 week scan, so couldn’t be measured! 😂 (going back at 16 weeks)

I’ve had sharp stabbing, sometimes more of an ache in my right side what feels like my ovary since about 6 weeks pregnant! I actually went for an early scan to rule out ectopic and ultrasound tech saw nothing wrong with my ovary and commented that my bowel was a bit more active on that side but couldn’t be sure it was that. However, I’m now at 14 weeks and it hasn’t stopped. I’ve read up about round ligament pain and while it does seem like that, is it likely that I’d have the pain in the same place for almost 8 weeks now? And also so early on if it started at 6 weeks? There’s been maybe the odd day where I’ve not noticed it. I checked with my midwife a few weeks back and she wasn’t worried. But it sometimes even hurts to walk!

anyone experienced this? Have any ideas? One minute I’m not too worried about it and then the next I’m spiralling that somethings wrong with me / baby!

So my experience of round ligament pain is different to yours. I get it if I move too fast/awkwardly and it's sometimes in one side (but it alternates) sometimes in both but it depends on how I moved so sort of which ligament I've put under strain if you see what I mean. I would never have pain just when sitting or resting.

I had it when I twisted quickly or stretched to reach something etc or even when I tried to fart 🙄🤭
What I also had which was almost debilitating was my hip opened up to prepare for baby coming but one side opened up too much and it was agony. I could barely walk. I was waddling but due to the hip not the baby bump. Mine started later than you though maybe at 6 months, the good thing was that as soon as I gave birth it eased and then after 3 weeks it had gone completely!
Unfortunately in pregnancy, they’ll always tell you ‘it’s normal’ Pain in the side, back pain, hip pain, reflux, tired, can’t sleep, headache, ‘it’s normal’ I felt like even if I went to the Drs and told them I had a rainbow shining out of my a*se they’d tell me it was ‘normal’ 🙄🙄🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ if your unsure keep mentioning it but it does seem, (sorry) normal.
good luck in your pregnancy 🍀💕
