Hi,

This is my first baby, I’m 22 weeks on Sunday and I haven’t felt her move yet.

I’ve been told between 16-24 weeks is normal to feel movements so I know I have 2 weeks left before I really need to worry, but has anyone else felt movement later on and all turned out fine?

thank you,
Rx

I didn't feel movement until 23/24 weeks. I was worried (and I made a similar post to you at the time!)

Even when I extensively googled, I saw a lot of "if you have an anterior placenta you'll feel it later" and "if you're plus size you'll feel it later", but none of that applied to me since I had a posterior placenta and was petite, so it made me feel even worse that surely I should be feeling it.

All was absolutely fine though, and I gave birth to a healthy baby 2 weeks ago.

Some of us do just feel movement later xx

If in doubt, get it checked. It will give you peace of mind.

I didnt feel much in my first pregnancy until after 24 weeks.
Depending on the location of your placenta you may not feel anything for a little while.
If youre really worried you can contact maternity triage but i wouldnt be too concerned just yet, everyone is different.

I didn't feel big, definite movements until 24 weeks. I have an anterior placenta though.

Go and drink a big glass of ice cold water and lie on your back and see if that does the trick.

That was how I felt the first kicks at around that gestation.

If youre worried, go straight to your emergency obstetric department in your hospital. They have a 24hr service and would much rather see you than not! I went LOADS when I was pregnant xx

@Dissappearedupmyownarse @JungleRun21 @JuniperandI @pilates @PurpleTurtleMoose @Tunacheesequesadilla

thank you all so much for your replies. It’s eased my mind slightly and reassured me that I might not be until 24 weeks until I feel something noticeable as we are all different.

going to try the iced water trick this afternoon. I have a chord blood flow check on Thursday with is an ultrasound so I might get them to check her size then too.

because of my fibroids I’m high risk for restricted growth, which is why I’m more worried and why I’m having the scan.

thanks again all, appreciate you taking the time to reply. X
