Confused with tests, shouldn’t they be dark now?

Hi there,

two days ago, I took a first response test and the faintest line appeared (you have to wiggle it around to see it). That night, I took another one and it was an obvious positive second pink line. I’m due my period next Tuesday, however I would have thought that the other tests I have been taking would pick up a second line but they haven’t at all. Could it be because first response is so sensitive and the others aren’t and it’s still early? Thank you

i wouldn’t worry too much, that’s still pretty early for a positive test. In your shoes I probably wouldn’t test again until Tuesday/Wednesday now.

Hi,

first response has a sensitivity of 6.3 mIU/ml, depending on the others you’re using they’ll be either 10mIU/ml if early detection or 25mIU/ml if not.

therefore, it is possible that if the line on your first response is pink but faint, your hcg might not have tipped past 10/25 yet.

I wouldn’t test daily, I’ve done it, do not recommend! All you do is myther over darkness as hcg does not double that fast.

test again in a couple of days, same time of day, same brand. It’s not an accurate science, just simply an indicator of “yes” or “no”.

All the best x

Short and sweet - yep, it's still early and the other tests need more HCG to display a line.

If you want to continue using the other (cheapy) tests then wait until your period is due.
