Hi

today I found out that baby is breech (bum low down, head up) and I’m wondering if this has ever been the case for someone expecting to go in for an elective section in the next 3 weeks?

do they bring this forward incase of early labour if the baby is still breech?

I don't think they would usually move it forward just because baby is breach, you would just be told to go straight in if you experienced any signs of premature labour and they would do a cat 2/3 section.

It is transverse babies that they often want to avoid early labour. If you have other risk factors they may decide to deliver early for those, but it's unlikely be because baby is breach.

Both my babies were breech, and both times I was booked in for a planned section at about 39 weeks, so I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference in your case unless they have any other concerns.

DS2 was breech and the elective date they gave me was the date after his due date. He did not wait for that, waters broke at home at 38+3 I think it was, but it was no big deal, I went in as soon as possible, they confirmed he was still breech so I got an emergency section. It was an emergency in name only, very chilled out and calm. I even drove myself into hospital while my husband waited for out childcare to arrive
