Chest pressure and feeling woozy

I’m not sure whether these are standard pregnancy symptoms? I’m 34wks.

For the last couple of days my eyesight has been really blurry and I’m struggling to focus my eyes and fully look up. My whole body feels so heavy, I’ve got tightness/pressure in my chest, a headache and feel hot but also shivery. My blood pressure is often a bit low but it feels different to the dizzy spells I get from that and I’ve been eating and drinking lots. Iron levels have been high.

I’m in between midwives at the moment and don’t know how to contact the new midwife yet but I have a pre booked appointment with her for next Monday.

I feel a bit dramatic calling triage as this doesn’t feel like an emergency but I’m starting to feel a bit concerned about how off I feel.

I think I’d get checked out ASAP. Either triage or if not A&E. Better to be safe than sorry for both you and baby. I’m fairly sure no one will mind you going in if it all turns out to be nothing (which fingers crossed for you it does).

Please go and get checked, this doesn’t seem right.

Nimnuan · 15/09/2025 14:25

Call Triage. That does not sound normal. Hopefully it is just your iron levels and relatively easily remedied.
You are not being dramatic.

Agree that doesn't sound right, I'd call triage and go and get checked, hope you're feeling better soon.

siliconcover · 15/09/2025 14:26

I'm not a medical person but I'd say you need checked asap. Call 111 for advice.

JuniperandI · 15/09/2025 14:27

Call MAU or triage. These aren't normal symptoms, I hope it turns out well for you!

Many symptoms of pre eclampsia there - if you've no way of checking your BP at home I'd absolutely be calling the hospital ASAP. Even if you have a BP monitor, still call - occasionally what looks like a normal BP isn't.

As others have said, this is definitely a situation for maternity triage. You need checking over and bloods doing. Please call them.

Thank you for all the helpful responses. I haven’t managed to get through to triage but I will keep trying today.
