I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant with my second and i have suddenly developed a fear of potentially having issued with cervix. I am currently 27.
My history is a full term unmedicated vaginal birth where i lost 400mls of blood but overall went well.
I had an IUD for 15 months (i dont know if that can damage the cervix but it was in the correct place the entire time).
I have been unable to completely get rid of thrush so i will be having to use a lot more pessaries which i have heard people say may have irritated their cervix causing early labour.
I have been experiencing some pelvic floor dysfunction since having my daughter 4 years ago which causing me to leak urine have some spasms in the crotch area.

Does anyone think i have enough history to worry about incompetent cervix or short cervix? Thank you.

In short no. You will be fine.
An incompetent cervix is when the cervix shortens prematurely, either because its been damaged by surgery to remove a large area of changing cells (pre-cancerous), or some other reason.

If the cervix is shortening and leaning towards a premature birth, a stitch can be done which will artificially hold it closed for a period of time, usually very successfully.

But there's nothing in your history to indicate you are at risk.

Thank you for your answer which is extremely reassuring for me ❤️ can i ask if there are any symptoms to be cautious of or any weeks that you think i could get a scan privately (just incase I'm still anxious about this)
