Is it true that at a certain point in pregnancy the body stops producing the hcg to turn a test positive?

The reason I ask is that a couple of months ago we were totally convinced I was pregnant going by my symptoms but by the time I had decided to test (I would have been about a week late) af started before I could buy the test I have had another af since then but am still "feeling" pregnant and have finally driven myself that crazy that I am going to buy a test this afternoon so that I will finally know for definite.

But if I do that am I wasting my money or is it a lot later on or not true at all?

No. Hcg will remain in your blood until the end of the pregnancy.

Jolly good. Thank you for replying.

Will go get the test later cant make my mind up what result I want though. I desperately want DC2 but if I am sensible we cant really afford another one yet! (DS is only 7 months.)

I would probably see the doctor who will be able to establish from other signs (heartbeat etc.) whether you are truly pregnant
The problems is you can get a postive result 6 weeks or so after you stop being pregnant so a positive result in your case may not mean what you think it does.

Think I will see what result I get and then if it is BFP I will probably try and see a dr.
