Infection in pregnancy

Recently been told following an internal scan I have an infection within my cervix, currently 17+5. Been treated with x2 antibiotic and pessarys. Just wondered if anyone else had any similar experience as obviously I've googled it and got myself worried 🤣

Doc asked me if I had any questions and I didn't at the time but I've since remembered that when my 1st was born they told me my waters smelt and it indicates infection and my second birth they also treated me for sepsis afterward as a precaution as they saw signs of infection when they cut me open for my c section so it seems I maybe prone to them ?

Hey, how are you getting on now? Did the antibiotics clear the infection? I'm in the same situation, currently on x2 antibiotics at 17 weeks. I'm very anxious about it 😞

Hii, so the swab came back negative. I was told that my internal scan contained something that indicates infection so they had to give me antibiotics for the worst case scenario. Got pessaries to insert upto 34 weeks as I'm at risk of a pre term birth!

back with that team on Thursday for another scan so hopefully everything is good.

what did they say to you? X

Glad everything is ok! It's the same for me, they saw something that indicated infection so gave me the antibiotics. I've been on progesterone since I found out I was pregnant as I'm high risk due to a previous loss at 19 weeks. Is that the pessaries you're taking? I too have been told to stop them at 34 weeks. Just praying I get that far! 🙏🏼

Ah hopefully was just a precautionary thing like mine then! And aw I am sorry to hear that, sending you lots of love for this one 🥰 yes that's exactly what I'm on too! I keep forgetting to take them which is stupid of me 🤣 I'm at risk of pre term birth as I've had two emergency sections at 10cm previously! X

Thankyou ❤️ that's interesting actually, my last birth was an emergency section at 7cm, I wonder if that makes a difference too? I have 3 kids and never had any of these issues before, if anything I went overdue! x
