Put down the pregnancy tests

I just wanted to share a photo from last year to offer hope for anyone driving themselves mad with cheap pregnancy strip tests. After 2 miscarriages I had an unhealthy obsession with trying to watch the lines on pregnancy tests darken and the lines were often very light and very variable.

I gave up testing after doing two tests from same urine at 5 weeks, top one in the picture was from Superdrug and was not supposed to be very sensitive but was very dark, bottom one from eBay was extremely light, these tests were so light day after day that I started panicking about HCG levels. I didn't need to worry, a healthy pregnancy followed and I am currently cuddling a sleepy baby boy. So my advice would be to put down the pregnancy tests down if they're driving you mad. Waiting for the line to darken is nonsense and tells you nothing about the pregnancy, save yourself the stress.

I’m honestly so happy I didn’t know about testing for line progression when I first fell pregnant. The amount of posts there have been about it lately is crazy! I know people get really anxious when they fall pregnant but constantly testing obviously doesn’t help 😭

I needed to read this today, thank you. I’ve had 3 miscarriages and pregnant again & was about to do another test this morning but I’m going to stop myself as it is torturing me! I should know that the outcome can’t be helped regardless, but I guess it’s the anxiety

I'm so sorry for your losses, its so hard to overcome the anxiety and enjoy pregnancy after even one miscarriage, three must be so incredibly hard. Very best of luck to you on your pregnancy and hope you manage to gradually relax. I found the early weeks so hard both physically and mentally, be as kind to yourself as you can.
