First trimester itch especially scalp

Hello
3rd pregnancy and currently 7 weeks. My scalp has been really itchy since 2 nights ago. This is not usual for me- no history of dry skin etc. I can't see any dandruff. No change in products. This never happened in my 2 previous pregs.
I obviously panicked about headlice, husband swears he can't see anything on my head but obviously wish I could see it for myself in case hes not looking properly! I did a conditioner comb through and didn't find anything. Checked my 2 sons heads and didn't find anything (we've never had lice in the house yet but with kids back in school now it's possible).
I do think I'm slightly more itchy all over, my face, wrists, legs, torso but it's mostly my scalp and it's driving me mad.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I do know about liver issues causing itchy but I understood that happened much later.
Thanks for reading.

Shamelessly bumping this, anyone?
Becoming self conscious about how much I am itching at work - mainly scalp, arms, face, torso.
Have 8 week scan this week and then going to GP.
I bought some moisturiser for my skin but not sure what I could use on my scalp

Omg hey! Exactly the same here. Could have written the post myself! Havnt managed to find anyone who also has the scalp itchiness (you're the first!) although a lot of others seem to have the overall itchiness. Im 28+4 at the moment. Had it for WEEKS now. Went to triage last week and bloods were normal. I guess its just hormones? So annoying but hope you feel better that you arent alone! Keep bringing it up to midwives in the hopes they will test you too. All of them so far have told me they've never heard of scalp itchiness before!

My twin pregnancy gave me scalp itch. It was maddening.
I was told it was due to increased oestrogen; for some women they get an increase in scalp oiliness, whilst others get dryness if the balance shifts.
That coupled with dehydration (i didn’t know I was dehydrated and felt I was drinking enough fluids…but I was not!)
Eucerin and e45 both have scalp calming products, safe for pregnancy, or ask your pharmacist if there are other suggestions. Alternatively, if it is safe for you, coconut oil (which is messy but worked for me).

OMG thank you both so much for replying 💗 I was actually starting to go a bit insane! I'm sorry it's been bothering you so long @littlepeanutlove but glad your bloods were OK and it's not a sign of anything serious.

I will check for those products @DeliaOwens thanks for the recs.

I've done 3 thorough headlice checks on myself so I'm certain now its hormonal. Hormones are crazy!! The fact I didn't have this symptom on my 2 boys has me wondering if this might be a girl oestrogen wise... time will tell :)

Thanks again x

@AmberBeakergood luck with it! It’s soooo irritating sometimes. I’m having a girl too so maybe you’re right!!

@DeliaOwensthanks for the tip! I’m going to drink more water and see if it helps

I was really itchy in the first trimester it only lasted a few weeks then went away I think it was just something to do with changing hormones
