Hiya ladies,

Im 7 weeks pregnant today yesterday I started brown/pinkish spotting and cramps today the cramps are awful and the spotting has changed to red i spoke to epu got a scan in morning but said not all pain and bleeding means it a miscarriage and said not to panic I've had 3 losses previously and all stsrted the same with spotting, im only able to take paracetamol e try 4 hours and using a hit water bottle, im guessing it's another loss woth the pain and spotting it's obvious has anyone else has bad cramps and spotting and been okay cos my anxiety is through roof and dreading the scan to be told bad news again 😢 💔

@Lisaaustin90 I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're in this position and I hope all turns out OK for you. Those symptoms don't always mean miscarriage and it's great that you've been so proactive and have the scan tomorrow. I'm a little over 8 weeks and have had cramping off and on. You could ask about progesterone tomorrow if all else is good. I'm on that currently and aspirin because of previous losses. It doesn't stop miscarriage but it supports a pregnancy if you've had previous loss.

I had multiple episodes of red bleeding through both my pregnancies/ heavy enough I thought it was my period before I’d realised I was pregnant. Something to do with the cells making up the neck of my
womb expanding onto the surface of my cervix and rupturing. They are 7 and 4 now.

EllieWales · 07/09/2025 16:37

I’m really sorry you’re going through this OP and sorry for your losses, it’s so cruel. I wanted to comment to say I had bleeding (red blood) at 6 weeks and a lot of cramping (on and off throughout) with my first and he turned out ok. I was told at the scan that bleeding is normal as long as it’s not heavy and doesn’t last more than a couple days it’s usually fine but it’s worth getting checked. I hope it goes well for you

Lisaaustin90 · 07/09/2025 16:49

The scan tomorrow is a reassurance scan to see if baby is in right place before they gave me progesterone but this has started the cramps are worse than the bleeding they are horrible they go round my back stomach having to take paracetamol every 4 hours I'm really scared this is the end again I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard. Ive been asking for progesterone since I found out I was pregnant but they couldn't get me a scan until 8th Sept. I've heard about baby aspirin where do I get it from gp? Sorry for your losses hun 😔 and I pray all goes well with your little bean 🙏

@Lisaaustin90 my GP prescribed it as soon as I had my positive test. I know that's not practice everywhere. I only knew to ask about it because of groups like this. When I went about my positive test I had cramping and spotting and she was happy to start me on it. I had a reassurance scan on Friday when I was 8 weeks and all is OK so far. Let us know how you get on tomorrow xx

Lisaaustin90 · 07/09/2025 16:54

@EllieWales my cramping is on and off but when it here it horrendous I'm crying with it but thankfully hit water bottle and pain killers seem to ease it, im still only getting red when I wipe nothing in toilet etc but the cramps are worse than the spotting my last losses I had spotting first then the intense pain when uterus was expelling tissue I don't know what this is but it's painful I really hope things are okay but im thinking the worst. I'm do glad yours turned out okay it's hard the anxiety of been pregnant after loss.

UPDATE! had my scan it shows an area in womb measuring 14mm in total but no yolk sac or fetal pole and whilst i was there i passed a large clot and bleeding and pains are awful so this is the end for me I'm going to pass the tissue i can feel it

ForGiddyDreamer · 08/09/2025 19:24

@Lisaaustin90 I'm very sorry to read your update. I hope you're doing as best as you can. Have you been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. This is your fourth I believe from your posts. How very cruel, my heart goes out to you x

YorkshireGoldDrinker · 08/09/2025 22:32

@Lisaaustin90 I'm so sorry 💐Life is unbearably cruel. As PP said, it might be worth having some investigations done. Be gentle on yourself x

Lisaaustin90 · 08/09/2025 23:49

@ForGiddyDreamer thank you hun for your reply. from my scan report it shows i have abnormal thickening of the endometrial wall some areas are thick some are thin meaning there's more estrogen and not enough progesterone not sure if that's related to it and the sac only measuring 4-5 weeks I should be 7+1 I cried my out walking past everyone in the waiting i couldn't hold it in. I'm having beta hcg measured to see what's happening but I already know the outcome having been through it before.

@YorkshireGoldDrinker thank you for your reply. I am waiting to see the recurrent pregnancy clinic in November, the pain from this is horrendous definitely worse than period pain I'm taking pain killers every 4 hours and using hot water bottle. I Hooe one day I get my rainbow baby.

@Lisaaustin90 I am not sure but it does look like tissue. Have you passed much more today? You were probably already briefed by the EPU (and I know you have had previous losses) but do go back if you are filling a pad every hour. When I miscarried in Feb I was shy of 6-7 weeks and, for me, it was very large clots. I didn't see anything with 'form'. I hope you are doing as best as you can be xx
